It was a short, late season outing: Six hours to ride to Ste. Anne, relax there, and then return home. On this trip was my first visit to Jason's café and my first visit to the Pte. Claire Yacht Club. See Original Notes, written at the time, which have been expanded below.
It was a hot, sunny Sunday afternoon when I set out after church on a ride to Ste. Anne de Bellevue & back. I would be gone from 14:00 until 20:30.
| 13:50 | I set out on my way from home. |
| 14:00 | I arrive at Ville St. Pierre. |
| 14:15 | I reach the Lachine Locks, via the Lachine Canal bikeway. |
| 14:25 | I ride out to the end of Parc Levesque, expecting to take the Bateaubus over to the Lachine Wharf. Alas, there is no longer a Bateaubus stop at the end of the spit of land. The Bateaubus now stops way back at beginning, which is nearly useless. What a bad idea! |
| 14:35 | I am once again back at the locks. I ride around the other way towards the Lachine Lighthouse. |
| 14:50 | I reach the Lachine lighthouse. I continue along the shoreline. |
| 15:00 | I reach the Dorval line, where I have to get off onto Lakeshore Road. |
| 15:20 | I reach the Pte. Claire line at Valois Bay. |
| 15:35 | I stop in briefly at Jason's new place, just to say 'hello'. Then I am on my way. |
| 16:00 | I stop into the Pte. Claire Yacht Club, where I meet Paula. She is preparing to go sailing, but takes a few minutes to show me her boat. Then I am on my way. |
| 16:05 | I reach the Beaconsfield line. |
| 16:30 | I reach the Baie d'Urfé line. |
| 16:40 | I reach the Ste. Anne line |
| 17:10 | I walk the bike along the waterfront, then cross to the island at the Locks. I cycle to end of north end of the spit, and then on down to the other end. |
| 18:10 | Finally, I am on my way again, heading home. |
| 18:15 | I reach the Baie d'Urfé line once again. |
| 18:25 | I reach the Beaconsfield line. |
| 18:40 | I reach the Pte. Claire line. |
| 18:55 | I stop in at Jason's place. It is much quieter now, and so I have a café au lait, as Jason & Anne sit out front with me and we talk. |
| 19:15 | I am on my way once again. |
| 19:20 | I reach the Dorval line, |
| 19:30 | I ride past Dorval Centre. |
| 19:35 | I reach the Lachine line and rejoin the bike path. |
| 19:40 | I reach the Lachine light, just in time for a beautiful sunset! |
| 19:55 | I head back along the Canal. |
| 20:00 | I reach Ville St. Pierre. |
| 20:15 | I stop at the Blockbuster video store on Sherbrooke, where I rent a video for the night. |
| 20:30 | I am home to wife and supper. |
