Write Up
It was the first day off in my "mini-vacation" (several forced day of vacation, to clear backlog at work.) Since I had first ridden along the Chambly Canal in 1999, I had remembered it as something that I might like to share with Sheryl. We decided this bright, sunny day would be the day
We drove out to Chambly with our bike mounted on the car, and were lucky enough to find a parking spot right at the Chambly locks.
- 11:30 We arrive at the Locks. Unmpack our bikes and head on out.
- 11:30-13:00 We ride the Chambly to St. Jean leg
- 13:00-14:00 We have lunch at the riverfront park in St. Jean
Lunch is the Salami, pepperoni & cheese we have brought with us
We walk over to the storefronts to get some iced cream
Finally, we do a short two-block walkabout in the old part of town, walking our bikes along, until we finally rejoin the Canal bikeway.- 14:00-16:00 We ride the return to leg to Chambly.
All in all, it was a fine day.
